- חוֹרֶשm. (b. h. חֹרֶש, v. Ges. H. Dict. s. v. חרש II, cmp. חֵרֵש) (difficult of accession, thicket, wild-growing bushes. Y.Ab. Zar. I, 39c ונעשה ח׳ גדול and it grew to a large thicket of reeds; Cant. R. to I, 6. Lev. R. s. 29 ניתש מח׳ זהוכ׳ tears himself loose from one thicket and is caught in another; Y.Taan.II, 65d top; Pesik.
